Finding the beauty in imperfections

Finding the beauty in imperfections

All the products at Really Resin are handmade with love and care, and even though we make every effort to ensure their beauty, natural blemishes and imperfections are what make each piece unique. The natural components of our art all behave differently and as such there are inconsistencies based on the creative and natural components, making each piece unique from the others of its kind. Our pieces are produced at our home studio and the process is full of dedication, love and care. Any items purchased from Really Resin are one of a kind. There are no two identical items available and each item will feature different flower arrangements, different wood grain and botanical species, as well as different pigmentations, we will always make each item beautiful in its on right.
Colour Disclaimer

Colour Disclaimer

The colours you see on your phone screen or computer monitor can be different to what is seen with the naked eye, while we take every care to capture a true likeness with the photos we display, please understand the actual color may vary slightly from what you see displayed. As flowers are a beautiful, natural creation, and have all gone through different processes throughout the growth period (including potential colouring), all flowers react differently throughout the preservation process, colours may change when preserved and when placed in resin. Some flowers withstand the drying process better than others, natural colour loss is unavoidable in some circumstances as is the shape of the flower as once moisture is removed the petals will naturally change shape.
Timescales

Timescales

whilst we pride ourselves on timekeeping, sometimes our timescales may vary. We like to ensure each piece leaves us perfect and as such our resin items go through multiple stages during the process.

Preperation Stages

Founded to be a little bit different from other companies
The drying stage -------------- When we receive your flowers we first select the best flowers and those most likely to survive the drying process. Then we carefully cut the stems and place them in our drying area undisturbed. We dry all our flowers in our studio, we normally advise a 7 - 10 days to allow them to dry as best as possible, this process may take longer, however, we check these everyday to see how they are getting on. The picking Stage ------------------- Once dried we will then check each flower and discard any that have browned too much or are not as perfect as we would like. The resin stage ----------------- We setup the mold and begin to place your flowers in the design we believe most suits the shape selected with the available flowers. We layer the resin rather than deep pour, this allows to to prevent bubbling within the resin, however, being flowers they will release tiny air bubbles as the resin fills in, we try our best to make all of our pieces as bubble free as possible. Once the resin layering is complete (usually 7-10 days depending on the size of the piece) we then demold and check for imperfections. The checking and sanding stage ------------------------------------ Once we demold your piece we will check it for imperfections and try to rectify any we find. Due to being handmade some these are unavoidable, but will be unique to your piece! We will sand down the resin piece to smooth over the edges and removed any external bubble pockets, once the piece is smoothed out we begin the next stage. The Coating stage -------------------- This part is my favourite! We level your piece up and coat the whole item in clear resin, this brings back the shine removed by the sanding and also smooths and finishes. Once dry and cured we will once again check the piece for defects right before we are ready to ship your item to you! If you have any questions or concerns beforehand please do not hesitate to get in touch.
